他给的英文翻译是这样的:
In the first half of the 20th century, women plunged into an undaunted and heroic struggle lasting several decades under the leadership of the Communist Party of China. This was a quest for national liberation as well as for women's own emancipation. It was not until the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949 that Chinese women, who make up one-fourth of the women's population in the world, finally won their historic freedom.

我认为这里英文翻译的第一句应该用since而不是用in啊,因为中文明明是写的"自..起"啊.

译文的英文写得很漂亮，堪称范文。第一句不可以用since，因为这句句子是一般过去时，不是现在完成时。请注意：英文不等于汉文，这就是个好例子。
